CoderDojo Home Challenge

Further information and registration here

Dear parents, We want to test your interest in a 3-week CoderDojo Home Challenge. With parents and children at home during these uncertain times, we think this will add some fun and education to you and your child’s day. Starting Monday 6 April we will run a 3 week CoderDojo virtual dojo where you and your child can:
  • Write music using the Sonic Pi programming language. At the end of the challenge you can submit your music to us and we will publish it on our website.
  • Create a robotic battle tank using in Java using Robocode and test your robot against other robots in the arena. You can submit your robot to us at the end of the challenge and we will publish it on our website, where you can download other robots too.
The challenge will be open to all young people aged 6-16. You must have a computer (windows or mac) at home to participate. How it will work:
  • From Monday 6 April we will publish bite sized instructions for both Sonic Pi and Robocode on our website which you can follow at home.
  • You can submit any questions to our Facebook page, and we will answer them as best we can. Every day we will be available live for at least one hour to answer any questions and give 1:1 advice on Facebook messenger.
  • The challenge will finish on Sunday 26 April.
  • The winner will receive a little tech prize from CoderDojo Zug.
Please let us know on Facebook if you are interested, and when you think we should be online to answer questions. The CoderDojo Zug Team
